World Cruise 2013: Day 91 - Livingstone, Zambia and Chobe National Park

We got up at 6:30 AM had some coffee and rolls at the hotel and left for an Elephant Back Safari. We got area where the elephant were and we got on the elephants for an hour ride. The ride was great. Each elephant had a guide and the elephants would stop and grab a bunch of tree or shrub branches with their trunks. The guide would give them instructions to move on and they would until they saw something else to eat. At a scenic place near the river we stopped where they used our cameras to take our picture on top of the elephant. When we got back we had a chance to feed the elephant some cubes. We then waited until the man who filmed the tour processed the pictures and we had a chance to view the film.

We returned to the hotel had a lite breakfast and at 11 AM we left for a day trip to Chobe National Park. To get to Chobe required that we leave Zambia and enter Botswana. We had to go thru security at the border and we got on a boat, which transferred us across the river to Botswana. In Botswana we had a different tour guide and we had to go thru security. We stopped at a hotel on the river for lunch and we left on a Safari in the Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park is the home to one of the largest remaining populations of elephants. On the ride we saw lots of elephants and we saw hippos, crocodiles, birds, buffalos, giraffes and one lion on our 2-hour drive. We returned to the border and went thru customs on both sides and headed back to the hotel. We got back to the hotel a little after 7 PM.
