World Cruise 2013
March 5, 2013
Today was a day at sea but it was a special day because it was the day that we crossed the equator. The ship had a special part on the ship at 10 AM at the Lido Pool where we had a King Neptune Ceremony. The
festivities are marked by the appearance of King Neptune and a mermaid. In
order for safe passage and smooth waters a sacrifice must be made. They paraded
several groups of people from the ship like a group from the wait staff and King
Neptune read their rites before the Captain and his staff, they kissed a fish
and were covered in colored paste like substance and the Captain and his staff
judged if they should be thrown in the pool.
Below are some pictures at the King Neptune Ceremony.
