World Cruise 2013

Today the ship stopped in Hobart, Tasmania. Hobart is the
capital of Tasmania and Australia’s second oldest city after Sydney. Hobart
looks far older because it has so many elegant, albeit convict built,
19th century buildings.
At 8:45 AM, I took a tour called “Bonorong Wildlife Park”.
Our first stop was at the historic township of Richmond, a 45-minute drive from
Hobart. This is a town that is building itself for the tourist crowd and it
also is the home to artists of different type. The town buildings of Georgian
architecture include the original courthouse, public buildings and churches and
the longest-standing bridge and jail in Australia.
When we got to Richmond I walked up to the church and took
some pictures and walked downtown past the bridge to the courthouse and viewed
some of the shops.
I walked to the bus, which was now parked at the jail. I did
not go in the jail because I didn’t have time and it was an additional
fee.
We then made our way to Bonorong Wildlife Park. This park
had Tasmania devils, quolls, wombats, koalas and echidna and your could feed the
kangaroos.
